WHAT: In partnership with the Danville Cancer Association, Danville Regional Medical Center is hosting a candlelight vigil and reception for community members who have been affected by breast cancer.
The vigil will take place at the hospital’s main entrance, followed by a reception in the main lobby area. No registration is required.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The American Cancer Society recommends that women age 40 and older receive an annual mammogram. Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in the United States, other than skin cancer. It is the second leading cause of cancer death in women, after lung cancer.
