Henry County Native Leads Materials Management Department
DANVILLE, VA - (March 26, 2007) - A Southside Virginia native, Danny Cline, has been appointed Director of Materials Management at Danville Regional Medical Center.
Cline joins Danville Regional from Pulaski Community Hospital, where he held the same post. He has 22 years experience in healthcare.
As Director of Materials Management, Cline is responsible for the purchase, receipt and distribution of supplies and equipment for the Medical Center. He supervises 17 people.
"Our mission is to support the caregivers," Cline says, "making sure our clinicians have the supplies and equipment they need to deliver quality care."
A native of Henry County, Cline recalls playing sports against Pittsylvania County high school. He came to Danville often when dating his future wife, Kathy, a graduate of Averett University.
"I'm very happy about being closer to home," said Cline. "My family and my wife's family are close by - just a short drive away west on Route 58.
"I'm excited about being part of the Danville community and the Danville Regional team. Being involved in healthcare is unlike most professions - we have the high privilege and tremendous responsibility of helping to care for others. To stop and think that someone would place that level of trust in us is just a marvelous thing," Cline continued. "I'm impressed with the employees here who are focused on providing caring, quality patient care right here at home.
Cline began his career in materials management at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County in l984. He was Director of Materials Management at Pulaski Community and Montgomery Regional Hospitals and Director of Operations at the Consolidated Service Center for HCA's Central Atlantic Division in Richmond.
