Danville, Va. (Aug. 11, 2009)—Christine Baumann has been named Director of Women’s & Children’s Services at Danville Regional Medical Center.
Baumann comes to Danville from Monclair, N.J. where she was a Nurse Manager of Maternal Child Health for Mountainside Hospital, a 346-bed acute care hospital.
“Christine is a high energy professional and brings to DRMC years of experience in the health care field,” said Jerel Humphrey, DRMC CEO. “We strive to have the highest caliber of professionals at DRMC and to provide the best possible health care in the region. We are happy that Christine has chosen to join our team of highly-skilled professionals.”
Baumann has an extensive management background and expertise in maternal child nursing. She has also had many professional accomplishments, including serving as a guest lecturer and presenter at various universities and medical centers.
“I am very excited to be working at DRMC and serve the reisdetns of the Dan River Region,” said Baumann. “The professionalism and dedication from physicians and associates to the hospital were major factors in my decision to make Danville home, and I am excited to become a part of this community.”
Baumnn received her nursing diploma from the Newark Beth Israel Hospital School of Nursing in Newark, N.J. and her bachelor’s degree from Upsala College in East Orange, N.J. She has also taken Public Health masters’ classes at New York Medical College.
Danville Regional is the leading medical center in the Dan River Region of Virginia and North Carolina, providing open heart surgery and advanced cancer treatment. Approximately 140 physicians are on the medical staff. The medical center employs approximately 1,435 people.
