The Child Care Center of Danville Regional Medical Center (DRMC) recently passed its annual inspection conducted by the Virginia Department of Social Services and received its first two-year license under the State’s new guidelines.
The Child Care Center recorded no violations during the unannounced inspection. The State inspector reviewed daily operations, policies, procedures, menus and past inspections of health and fire codes.
“Receiving no violations and the first two-year license from the State under its recently updated guidelines is an honor and reflection of the staff’s dedication to quality,” said Danville Regional Chief Executive Officer Eric Deaton. “Our staff is committed to meeting and exceeding the State’s healthcare regulations.”
“This accomplishment is a result of the outstanding job that the Child Care Center staff performs daily, as well as the support from various departments within the hospital,” said Michelle Hand, Child Care Center director. “We are pleased with the results and will continue to provide excellent care to children of the community.”
The Child Care Center recently celebrated the Week of the Young Child - a week of activities and a fundraising event for the children of the center. Each day had its own theme, and at the end of the week, the center hosted a parent/child breakfast and St. Jude Trike-A-Thon. The children collected $1,173 during the Trike-A-Thon to be donated to the children and families of St. Jude Hospital.
