Danville Regional Medical Center (DRMC) recently announced the addition of Brian W. Zagol, MD, FACC, to its medical staff as a cardiologist. He is currently practicing at Cardiology Consultants of Danville, Inc. at 158 Executive Drive.
Dr. Zagol received his bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Washington and Lee University and Medical Doctor degree from Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pa. He also completed both his intern year and Internal Medicine Residency at Wilford Hall Medical Center on the Lackland Air Force Base in Texas. In 2004, Dr. Zagol moved to Memphis, Tenn. to complete his Cardiovascular Medicine Fellowship at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.
Prior to joining the Danville Regional medical staff, Dr. Zagol served as a staff cardiologist for Eglin Hospital on the Eglin Air Force Base in Florida. While on base, he served as Chairman of the Intensive Care Unit Committee, Medical Director of the Intensive Care Unit, Medical Director and co-founder of the Coumadin Clinic and alternate Chairman of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee. Dr. Zagol was also deployed to Balad, Iraq and Kandahar, Afghanistan, serving as the leader of a Critical Care Air Transport Team aeromedically evacuating critically ill or injured patients to higher levels of care or out of theater.

Dr. Zagol is board-certified in Cardiovascular Disease, Nuclear Cardiology and Internal Medicine, and he is a member of the American College of Cardiology and the American Medical Association. He has participated in numerous national medical presentations and co-authored several case studies published in various medical journals.
