Danville Regional Medical Center (DRMC) announced today the appointment of two new members to its Board of Trustees: Shannon Hair, Director of Development with Danville Community College (DCC), and Laurie Moran, President of the Danville Pittsylvania County Chamber of Commerce. Both appointments take effect immediately.
“It’s an honor to welcome such strong community leaders to our Board,” said Dr. Frank Campbell, Chair of DRMC’s Board of Trustees. “The unique skills, experience and resources these individuals bring to the Board will be invaluable as we move forward in reaching the mission and vision of the organization.”
Hair, an active member of the Danville Kiwanis Club and current secretary of the Ralph Landes Medical Education Endowment Fund, has served the community in many capacities to include: past president of the DCC Alumni Council; past board of director, Danville Pittsylvania County Chamber of Commerce; past board of director, Danville Family YMCA; past vice-chairman, Downtown Danville Association; past secretary and treasurer of the Danville Rotary Club; and past member of the Virginia Economic Developers Association, the Southern Economic Development Council and the International Economic Development Council.
Moran, who currently serves as chair of the National Association of Workforce Boards (NAWB), is also a very active community leader having served as secretary and past president of the West Piedmont Workforce Investment Board; chair of the Dan River Region Collaborative; past president of the Danville-Riverview Rotary Club; and past assistant Governor for Area 7 of Rotary International District 7570. Moran is also a former president and current member of the Board of Directors of the Virginia Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (VACCE) where she was named VACCE Executive of the Year in 2005.

The Board of Trustees is responsible for providing oversight to the hospital, advice and support in facilitating the establishment of policies, maintaining quality patient care, and providing for institutional management and planning, all in a manner that is responsive to the needs of the community.
