Danville Regional Medical Center Donates Food Drive Items to God’s Storehouse

The associates of Danville Regional continue to help those in need in the Dan River Community. During the last several weeks, associates have collected non-perishable food items that were donated to God’s Storehouse, a private, non-profit organization that collects, stores and distributes food to the poor, elderly and children in the area. Staff members took the donations over to God’s Storehouse on Monday, May 24 at noon.

Danville Regional’s annual food drive is sponsored by the Dietary Department and brings in thousands of pounds of non-perishable food items every year. This year’s total donation equaled more than 2,535 pounds. The Environmental Services and Accounting departments donated the highest pounds of food per department. Staff members have collected almost 9,000 pounds of non-perishable items since the food drive started in 2008.
