Danville Regional Medical Center Names 2008 Mercy Award Winner

Monday, April 14, 2008 - Jo Ann Graham was recently awarded Danville Regional Medical Center’s 2008 Mercy Award.  This honor puts Jo Ann Graham in the running for LifePoint Hospital’s 2008 company-wide Mercy Award, the highest honor an employee can receive from LifePoint Hospitals, Inc., Danville Regional Medical Center’s parent company.

The Mercy Award recognizes one employee who best represents the spirit and values on which the company was founded.  The annual award was established in 2002 to honor the life of Scott Mercy, LifePoint’s founding Chairman and CEO.

The company-wide winner will be honored at a ceremony during LifePoint’s Senior Leadership Retreat in Chicago in June.

Jo Ann Graham is the Administrative Secretary for the Psychiatry Department. She has worked for Danville Regional Medical Center for 19 years.  She exemplifies LifePoint’s High Five core values. Her director, Sharon Yeatts, refers to her as “the glue that holds us all together. She has transitioned through many roles at DRMC including unit secretary, nursing assistant, psychiatric technician, and most recently Administrative Secretary.”

“LifePoint Hospitals is committed to delivering quality patient care.  We are extremely proud to recognize Jo Ann Graham for her efforts on behalf of our patients and our community,” said Jerel Humphrey, CEO.  “Her exemplary work and compassion sets a high standard for healthcare professionals.  We are proud to have her as part of our employee family.  Undoubtedly, our patients benefit from the kind of commitment to excellence and to humanitarian concerns she demonstrates each day.”
