DANVILLE, Va. (Jan. 17, 2011) - Danville Regional Medical Center (DRMC) recently announced the addition of Kelly Fitzgerald as new marketing director. She will oversee and direct the internal and external marketing initiatives for the hospital.
A native to the region, Fitzgerald received both her bachelor’s degree in Marketing Management and Informational Technology and her master’s degree in Instructional Technology from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
She spent the past seven years at the Institute for Advanced Learning and Research (IALR) in Danville as Information Technology Specialist and Marketing and Communications Associate. Fitzgerald specializes in utilizing technology in marketing and communications initiatives. At IALR, she created print and multimedia publications, developed and managed both internal and external websites and was instrumental in the creation of IALR’s Balanced Scorecard.
“Kelly’s unique expertise in the interactive world will help DRMC more effectively communicate with all of our audiences through the web and other channels,” said Eric Deaton, CEO of Danville Regional. “The hospital will greatly benefit from her knowledge in this area.”
Fitzgerald is a recent graduate of Danville Pittsylvania County Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Southside program, where she will be one of the founding members of a new Geocaching Club. She is also active in the community as a member of Mount Hermon Baptist Church and the Junior Wednesday club.
Danville Regional is the leading medical center in the Dan River Region of Virginia and North Carolina, providing open heart surgery and advanced cancer treatment.
