Danville Regional Medical Center Welcomes New Physician

Danville Regional Medical Center (DRMC) is pleased to announce the addition of Mark Robinson, MD, MPH, as general ophthalmologist and cataract surgeon.  He is currently practicing at the Dominion Eye Center at 800 Memorial Dr.

Dr. Robinson received his bachelor’s degree in Biology, Medical Doctor and Master’s of Public Health degree from the University of North Carolina.  He completed his intern year at the University of Virginia Carilion Internal Medicine Program in Roanoke, Va.  He then completed his ophthalmology training at the Georgetown and Washington Hospital Center Ophthalmology Residency in Washington, D.C.

He is a board-certified ophthalmologist and recently worked at the Vistar Eye Center in Roanoke before joining the Danville Regional medical staff.

“We are delighted to welcome Dr. Robinson to Danville Regional,” said CEO Eric Deaton.  “With his addition, Danville Regional continues to provide quality service to the Dan River region.”

During his time at Georgetown and Washington Hospital Center, Dr. Robinson served as Chief Resident during his last year of residency.  He participated in the Soros Service Program for Community Health one summer during medical school, which focused on helping disadvantaged patients in Baltimore, Md.  During college and medical school, Dr. Robinson also served as a volunteer youth group leader at his church.

“This is a great opportunity for me to grow my practice here and work with Danville Regional’s dedicated staff,” said Dr. Robinson.  “This is a great hospital with talented people, and I am excited to begin caring for our neighbors.”
