Danville Regional Medical Center representatives and community officials today were part of a ribbon cutting ceremony for the addition of the new Family Healthcare Center - Brosville.
According to Danville Regional Medical Center’s CEO Eric Deaton the new center will provide primary care medical services for all ages from newborn to geriatric. “As we look at the healthcare needs of our community, establishing primary care in our region is key,” said Deaton. “We are pleased to provide this new facility to the community.”
Construction of the 4,245 square foot healthcare center in Brosville Station was completed in late July, with the Center officially opening early August. Features of the new facility include:
-Walk-in Clinic (appointments taken, however no appointment needed)
-Care provided for sick and wellness needs (immunizations, vaccines, etc.)
-Eight (8) examination rooms
-On-site x-ray
-Basic on-site lab testing
-Extended hours (open 7 a.m. - 7 p.m., Monday through Friday; 7 a.m. - Noon Saturday)
“It’s a great day for this community - to have primary medical care so conveniently available,” said Delegate Danny Marshall, in a statement read on his behalf. “The Clinic is creating seven new jobs right away, but will also help us with economic development, as prospective companies see that their workers and their families can receive preventative care and medical treatment for all ages.”
Also in a statement, Congressman Robert Hurt stated, “I want to congratulate Eric Deaton and the Danville Regional Medical Center on their ribbon cutting today. The opening of the Brosville Family Healthcare Center is a great announcement for the entire Danville and Pittsylvania County region.” Congressman Hurt also stated, “This center will create vitally important healthcare jobs in the area at a time when we need it most and, as I saw firsthand during my visit last week, will provide and expand quality medical services to those across the region.”
“This is the beginning of something great,” added DRMC Board of Trustees Chairman Dr. Frank Campbell. “We take seriously our business of being the community’s primary healthcare provider. As a partner with the community, we want to make a difference and help the community to become healthier.”
