Danville Regional Remains Accredited

DANVILLE, VA., August 23, 2007 - The Joint Commission has notified Danville Regional Medical Center that it remains an accredited organization, and that the Joint Commission has removed a preliminary denial of accreditation.

"This is outstanding news for the community, and for the associates and physicians who provide care in our hospital,” said Betty Jo Foster, chairman of the Danville Regional Board of Trustees.  “This action sends a strong quality message to those who rely on Danville Regional for care, and is a compliment to hospital administration and all our clinicians and care-giving staff.  DRMC is a valuable community asset and we look forward to remaining so for a long time to come.”

The Joint Commission is an independent, not-for-profit organization that accredits and certifies nearly 15,000 health care organizations and programs in the United States.
