The employees of Danville Regional Medical Center (DRMC) recently delivered more than 2,000 lbs. of perishable goods to God’s Storehouse to assist with hunger needs in the Dan River region. The food items were delivered on Thursday, April 28.
“There are people suffering from the economic downturn that need our help,” said DRMC’s Dorothy McGraw. “We want the people in the community to know that we are here for them and will continue to support them.”
Danville Regional Medical Center donated another 2,000 lbs. of non-perishable food items to God’s Storehouse last November.
God’s Storehouse is a private, non-profit organization that collects, stores and distributes large quantities of food to the poor, elderly and children in our community. The organization was established in 1987 by a group of area churches dedicated to serving the underprivileged and those in need.
Danville Regional is the leading medical center in the Dan River Region of Virginia and North Carolina, providing open heart surgery, spinal surgery and advanced cancer treatment. Approximately 140 physicians are on the medical staff. The medical center employs approximately 1,200 people. For additional information, visit http://www.danvilleregional.com.
