DANVILLE - Eric Deaton, president and chief executive officer of Danville Regional Medical Center, has been appointed to the State Board of Health by Gov. Bob McDonnell.

The State Board of Health provides leadership in planning and policy development for the commonwealth and Virginia Department of Health.

Its goal is a coordinated, prevention-oriented program that promotes and protects the health of all Virginians.
