Doloresco Resigns As CEO

Decides to Return to Arizona

DANVILLE, VA - (June 20, 2007) - Art Doloresco has resigned as CEO of Danville Regional Medical Center, having decided to rejoin his family in Arizona in the next few weeks.

“When I came to Danville almost a year ago, I intended to relocate my family,” he said.  “Since then, I have changed my mind and decided not to move to Danville.  The CEO of the Medical Center should live with his family in the area, so it is appropriate that I leave.” Doloresco’s permanent residence is in Arizona.

“I am grateful for the support and the contributions of many people in Danville - the Board of Trustees, associates, physicians and members of the community,” Doloresco said.  “I wish the Medical Center every success in the future.”

Jess Judy, President of the Gateway Division of LifePoint Hospitals, Inc., said he understands Doloresco’s decision and appreciates his leadership at Danville Regional.

“LifePoint remains committed to Danville Regional and to the delivery of quality healthcare in the area,” Judy said.  “We will have invested more than $25 million in Danville Regional by the end of this year, and we will continue to put resources into the Medical Center.  Working with physicians, associates, volunteers and the community, we can have a Medical Center that everyone will be proud of,” he continued.

“We will work closely with the Board of Trustees and leadership of the Medical Staff in the selection of the new CEO,” Judy continued.

Ruth McDaniel, an experienced hospital administrative executive who is currently Interim Chief Nursing Officer at Danville Regional, will assume responsibilities for the Medical Center when Doloresco leaves.
