DANVILLE, VA. (Feb. 9, 2009) - The Wound Healing Center at Danville Regional Medical Center (DRMC) has begun accepting patients, officials announced today.
The Wound Healing Center is a new line of service at DRMC that provides specialized care for people with acute and chronic wound care needs.
With advanced technologies and proven clinical protocols, the center looks to create a unique environment for people with wounds that are extremely difficult to heal and require specialized treatment.
“Our goal is to provide high quality care to those patients who have suffered a severe wound and cannot properly treat it themselves,” said Henry Bridges, M.D., Wound Healing Center Medical Director. “Our patients’ needs are our first priority. We are committed to providing expert wound healing options, which include preventing infection and re-injury and other clinical services focused on getting patients back to their normal lives.”
Each patient at Danville Regional’s Wound Healing Center receives an individualized treatment plan and attention to their needs. The staff at the center treat wounds such as diabetic ulcers, leg ulcers, skin tears or lacerations, post-operative wounds and infections, and gangrene.
“DRMC is proud to offer this line of service to the residents of this area,” said Jerel Humphrey DRMC CEO. “This center is another example of the steps we are taking to ensure the Dan River region that we are doing everything we can to provide the best possible care.”
