DRMC School of Health Professions Graduates 18 From Radiologic Technology Program

Danville, Va. Dec. 13, 2007—Danville Regional Medical Center’s School of Health Professions Radiologic Technology Program recently awarded 18 students with their two-year certificate upon completion of the program.

“These graduates are the ones who will be providing patient care by using X-rays, radioisotopes, sound waves or magnetic fields to help assist in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases,” according to program director Kevin Murray.

“This graduating group of students demonstrated incredible skills, as the cumulative collective GPA was 3.76 on a 4.0 scale.  I am also pleased that four of the graduates of this year’s program will remain at DRMC.”

The DRMC Radiologic Technology Program began in 2003 in response to a shortage of radiation technologists in the Dan River and Piedmont region.

“The graduation rate is 95 percent and the job placement rate is 100 percent within 90 days.  We are very proud of our graduates and very fortunate to have such a highly talented and academically strong group of candidates to select from each year,” Murray added.
