Joint Replacement is BodyTalk Topic September 12
DANVILLE, VA - (September 5, 2006) - The second in the series of free seminars about orthopedic care will be held September 12 at Danville Regional Medical Center.
Called BodyTalk, the seminars are held monthly and presented by the physicians of Danville Orthopedic Clinic.
Stuart J. Kramer, M.D., will speak on joint replacement surgery at the September 12 seminar to be held in Room 3A38 at the Medical Center. Light refreshment will be provided. Call 799-WELL for reservations.
"The seminar will be of interest to a broad range of people," Dr. Kramer said, noting that the component technology has improved tremendously in recent years. "People as young as in the 40s now can consider joint replacement surgery because the components last so much longer."
Dr. Kramer has performed more than 2,000 joint replacement surgical procedures in his 20 years in Danville. He received his doctor of medicine from Suny-Health Science Center at Syracuse College of Medicine. His residency in surgery was at University Hospitals in Cleveland, and his residency in orthopedic surgery was at University of Virginia. He is Board Certified in orthopedic surgery.
"We are pleased to offer the community this series of seminars designed to increase knowledge about the specialized orthopedic procedures available in the Danville area," said Cathy Shelton, Physician Services Manager, who is coordinating BodyTalk. "Working with physicians at the Orthopedic Clinic, Danville Regional provides surgical services that enable patients to undergo procedures and recover close to home."
Founded in l948, Danville Orthopedic Clinic provides a complete range of orthopedic services, including surgery. The Clinic has four physicians on staff that also provide care for orthopedic patients at the Medical Center.
