Danville, VA., Nov. 27, 2007 - A grand opening celebration taking place on Thursday, Nov. 29 will mark the completion of the new 6th Floor of the Landon R. Wyatt, Jr. Tower at Danville Regional Medical Center. On Dec. 4, the new unit will begin providing care to the hospital’s Telemetry (cardiac care) patients.
The 6th Floor is a 17,500-square-foot facility that can accomodate 46 patients and will include nursing stations as well as offices. The 23 new rooms are each an expanded 325 square feet and will be large enough to house the proper equipment needed to care for the cardiac monitoring patients.
“The completion of the 6th Floor allows DRMC the opportunity to provide better patient care in a more spacious, technologically advanced environment,” said Jerel Humphrey, Chief Executive Officer. “We are committed to promoting the best possible healthcare for the residents of this community and this is another example of our efforts.”
Since last year, Danville Regional has invested more than $25 million in hospital improvements.
