DANVILLE, VA - (January 18, 2007) - Larry Patterson, a Danville businessman, and Mukesh B. Patel, MD have been re-elected to the Advisory Board of Danville Regional Medical Center.
I appreciate the contributions that both Mr. Patterson and Dr. Patel continue to make to the Board," said Betty Jo Foster, Chair. "The fact that they have made a commitment to serve for another three-year term reflects their dedication to the Medical Center."
Patterson, a member of the Board for six years, said the Medical Center is moving in the right direction. "There have been positive changes in recent months, particularly in the emergency room, and I hope the community realizes that," he said. "At the same time, the Medical Center needs more time to continue to make improvements."
Patterson said he accepted another term on the Board because "I want to do my part to ensure that the Medical Center accomplishes its mission of providing healthcare excellence close to home."
Dr. Patel has practiced medicine in Danville for 10 years. "The Medical Center has improved and will continue to improve," he said. He cited the build-out of the 5th floor of the Landon R. Wyatt, Jr. Tower, the improvements in the emergency room and the planned purchase of advanced cancer treatment technology.
"I ask the community to have faith in the administration of the Medical Center. It has been only six months since Mr. Doloresco joined us. "More improvements are needed, but they will take some time." Dr. Patel said he is continuing to serve because "being part of the situation is the only way to make things better."
Other members of the Advisory Board are Rev. Charles L. Breindel, Dr. Frank R. Campbell, Vice Chairman; Michel A. Caplan, MD, Mark C. Hermann, MD, David Luther, Gary P. Miller, MD, and John B. Woods.
